2. Explore the locations from Gavin and Stacey
Barry is best known for being the home to beloved BBC sitcom Gavin and Stacey, with fans flocking to the town to see its iconic locations, including:
Marco’s Cafe - A central hub for many classic scenes, the cafe on the promenade is where Stacey works, with an instantly recognisable exterior and some great photo opportunities.
Whitmore Bay - The beautiful sandy beach on Barry Island serves as a backdrop for numerous memorable moments, from the family day out on the beach to Nessa riding her Tuk Tuk down the promenade.
Gwen’s House - Located on Trinity Street, the West House is a frequent setting for family gatherings, hilarious mishaps, and Gwen’s legendary omelettes. While a private residence, it's a great place to catch a glimpse of the iconic house.
Nessa’s Slots - Situated on the Promenade under the Western Shelter on Barry Island, the arcade is often featured with Nessa and Neil the Baby, working hard. Have a go on the slots or take a photo in Nessa’s famous cash booth.
If you love Gavin and Stacey, we also sell a range of gifts and memorabilia for you to take home.
